Therapies offered

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a completely natural state of mind that most people experience every day, whilst daydreaming, reading a book or driving a familiar route.  Hypnotherapy is simply a relaxed state of body and mind, enabling an experienced therapist to help you to use your imagination to facilitate positive changes to your physical and emotional state.  The client remains in control and will never do anything they don’t want to do.

There are different types of hypnotherapy.  We offer suggestion hypnotherapy and hypnoanalysis (regression).

Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues including:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Fears and phobias
  • Low self esteem
  • Exam/wedding/driving test nerves
  • Public speaking
  • Emotional eating/weight loss
  • Improving Sports Performance
  • Addictions and habits
  • Relationship issues
  • Loss and bereavement

Integrative Counselling

Integrative counselling is a combined approach that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists believe that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations, therefore techniques must be tailored to suit each persons’ individual needs and personal circumstances. This may include looking at the present, exploring the past and making positive changes for the future.

Systemic (Family) Work

Family Therapy, also known as Systemic Therapy, is an approach that looks at the interactions between members of families and those in close relationships.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that involves applying gentle pressure to the reflexes of the hands or feet. The reflex areas of the hands/feet correspond to the whole body.  The right foot or hand corresponds to the right side of the body and the left foot or hand corresponds to the left side of the body.  A session of reflexology will treat the whole body.  Reflexology is a relaxing treatment and can help ease unpleasant symptoms such as:

• Stress/Tension
• Anxiety
• Digestive Problems
• Hormonal Imbalances
• Sleep Disorders
• Sinus Problems
• Sport Injuries

Reiki

Reiki is a natural process that promotes relaxation and healing by removing blocks to the flow of energy in your body.  It facilitates balance and support on all levels.  Reiki infuses your Chakras and your body with universal light energy.  It is a form of energy healing that has become common practice in hospitals, hospices and private practices.

Swedish Massage is a technique to relax the entire body. This is achieved by massaging the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood re-turning to the heart. Perfect for relieving stress , release tension and improve sleep.

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissues, to help more chronic aches and pains. Especially helpful for areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain and tightness in the leg muscles, achieved by sustained pressure using slow deep strokes and manipulation.

Body Psychotherapy

Body Psychotherapy is a talk and movement therapy; it works with both the physical and emotional aspects of us. Our bodies reflect our past and present emotional states, so an illness or injury affects how we feel, and how we feel influences us at a physically level. Body Psychotherapy works to connect and integrate our emotions with our body; this connection gives us the tools to regain control and live a happier life. It uses a wide range of techniques including therapeutic massage, visualisation, working with objects & body movement.  Body Psychotherapy can work with chronic physical issues, traumatic emotions, PTSD, anxiety, stress, depression & relationship issues.
